I picked the wrong person as deputy, Akeredolu says

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo state and the governor aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has made it known that he made a terrible mistake by choosing his deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi, who abandoned the party to the main opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), thereby stabbing him at his back.

Governor Akeredolu made this known in Igbekebo, an area in Ese-Odo council area of the state during a tour he named, “meet the delegates,” ahead of the primary election that will take place next Monday.

He said, “despite the criticism and attack from various quarters that Ajayi is my cousin, l felt that l had made a choice but a wrong choice.”

Akeredolu further revealed that he was excited that Ajayi showed who he really is, and his action was for the purging of the party for better performance.

Governor Akeredolu therefore encouraged the people of the Local Government Area not to bother about the betrayal of the deputy governor, who dumped the party for the opposition.
